Show Low (Ariz.) had a comfortable lead entering the fourth quarter, but used 20 fourth quarter points to seal the 29-6 victory over
Buckeye (Ariz.).
The Cougars were up 9-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run in the second quarter.
Show Low put up 20 points in the fourth quarter en route to the win. SL scored on a touchdown run by
Brice Rova, a touchdown pass by
Levi Jeffs to Rova and a
Cody Tenney touchdown run in the quarter.
Torres Guy played well for the Hawks. The junior running back ran for one touchdown. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
Rova played well for the Cougars in the victory. The junior running back ran for one touchdown and caught one touchdown. He has now scored 13 touchdowns on the season.
Buckeye's lone touchdown came on a 15-yard run by Guy in the fourth quarter.
Show Low went into the matchup giving up only 11.6 points per game. The six points that BHS ended with were well below its average of 36.0 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Buckeye, which notched a 28-7 victory over Winslow in its previous outing. With the win SL extended its winning streak to three games. The loss snapped the Hawks' 2-game winning streak.
