Basketball Recap: Ridgway Beats Ouray for Their Third Straight Victory

Ridgway extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Sophia Scranton. The Ridgway Demons came out on top against the Ouray Trojans by a score of 39-29 on Friday thanks in part to Scranton, who went 8 of 10 en route to 16 points and seven steals. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Emery Cornell, who posted five points along with eight rebounds and six steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Ridgway is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Ouray, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Ridgway didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-33 victory against Mancos on the 1st. As for Ouray, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 50-8 defeat against Dove Creek on the 4th.
