Volleyball Recap: Farmington Starts Season with Victory Against Darien

Farmington had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Darien Blue Wave on Saturday. For the River Hawks, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Blue Wave walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

While Farmington won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-22.

Leading Farmington to victory were Finn Fairbrother and Joshua Silva. Fairbrother had 17 assists and eight digs, while Silva had 19 digs and three aces. Silva has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times he's played.

Looking ahead, Farmington will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they takes on Newington at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Darien, they are taking a road trip to challenge Iona Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
