Volleyball Recap: Doniphan West Comes Up Short

Doniphan West was the 2-1 winner over Hiawatha when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mustangs fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Doniphan West might've come up short, but they didn't make it easy on Hiawatha: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 28-26, 25-22.

Doniphan West's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Hiawatha, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Doniphan West will head out to challenge Valley Heights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Heights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Doniphan West surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hiawatha, they will take on Nemaha Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
