Football Recap: Howells-Dodge Jaguars vs. Lawrence-Nelson Raiders
Howells-Dodge took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lawrence-Nelson Raiders 36-8 at home. The Jaguars pushed the score to 28-8 by the end of the third, a deficit the Raiders had little chance of recovering from.
Howells-Dodge found their leader in underclassman Oliver Belina, who rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries. Hunter Luther was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Howells-Dodge is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Clarkson/Leigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Howells-Dodge is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season. As for Lawrence-Nelson, they will take on Blue Hill on Friday.
