Baseball Game Preview: Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors vs. Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion

The Tri-City Christian Academy Warriors will face off against the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Tri-City Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on New Way Learning Academy with a sharp 22-2 win. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Bradyn Eckert made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Eckert was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. He also put up three RBI, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Canaan Brady was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Brady is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Joel Miller was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Tri-City Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .778. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Way Learning Academy only posted an OBP of .182.

Meanwhile, Wickenburg Christian Academy won against Flagstaff Christian on Wednesday with 13 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Wickenburg Christian Academy came out on top against A+ Charter School by a score of 13-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lion.

Wickenburg Christian Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.6 runs over those games. As for Tri-City Christian Academy, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
