Recap: Mountain Range Mustangs vs. Poudre Impalas

The Mountain Range Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight defeat. They took a 63-48 bruising from Poudre. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mountain Range in their matchups with Poudre: they've now lost three in a row.

Mountain Range's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Quincy Helsel, who scored 17 points, and Jeramiah Chavez who scored ten points.

Mountain Range struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Poudre racked up 12 assists.

It was another big night for Luke Foster, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists for Poudre. Foster hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Pierce Decker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Mountain Range dropped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Poudre, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain Range and Fossil Ridge will face off at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Mountain Range focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. As for Poudre, they will head out on the road to face off against Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Poudre surely won't give up without a fight.
