Basketball Game Preview: Beaver Dam Golden Beavers vs. Monona Grove Silver Eagles

The Beaver Dam Golden Beavers will square off against the Monona Grove Silver Eagles at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Tuesday, Beaver Dam beat DeForest 59-50. Given the Golden Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Norskies are ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Monona Grove won against DeForest on Friday with 56 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. Monona Grove simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Fort Atkinson 56-25. That 31 point margin sets a new team best for the Silver Eagles this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Monona Grove, bringing their record for this year to 6-3. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Beaver Dam, their win bumped their record up to 8-2.

Everything went Beaver Dam's way against Monona Grove in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as Beaver Dam made off with a 60-37 victory. Will Beaver Dam repeat their success, or does Monona Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
