Baseball Game Preview: Ogemaw Heights Falcons vs. Alpena Wildcats

The Ogemaw Heights Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Alpena Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alpena took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Ogemaw Heights, who comes in off a win.

Ogemaw Heights' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Bullock Creek 7-0. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Wyatt Biskup's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Robbie Hock was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Potter, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Alpena was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They lost 9-1 to Freeland. The Wildcats have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

The victory made it two in a row for Ogemaw Heights and bumps their season record up to 11-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Alpena, they now have a losing record of 8-9.

Ogemaw Heights might still be hurting after the 9-0 defeat they got from Alpena in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
