Recap: Hillsboro/Central Valley H-CV Burros vs. Thompson Tommies
The Hillsboro/Central Valley H-CV Burros's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 81-71 to Thompson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Tuesday (58), Hillsboro/Central Valley still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Thompson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Overby, who scored 26 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Overby has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karter Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds.
Hillsboro/Central Valley has fallen quite a ways from their 16-8 record last season and are now at 3-6. As for Thompson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsboro/Central Valley will take on Oak Grove Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Thompson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Devils Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Devils Lake presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Thompson in North Dakota (Devils Lake is ranked 14th, while Thompson is ranked 63rd).
