Softball Game Preview: Forest Hills Rangers vs. Bowne Wildcats

For the second straight game, Forest Hills will face off against Bowne. The Rangers will head out to challenge the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hills is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.8 runs per game this season.

Forest Hills is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over Bowne on Thursday.

Celeste Cruz and Carla Chiaramonte made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Cruz pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Chiaramonte tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cruz has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, Cruz went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Chiaramonte went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Cruz also hit a triple, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Angelica Capparelli and Aaliyah Baratau did most of the damage at the plate: Capparelli went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base, while Baratau went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run marked the first that Capparelli has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Jazline Ovalles, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple.

Forest Hills always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Bowne is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Forest Hills, their record now sits at 2-3.
