Baseball Recap: Mills Finds Home Field Redemption Against San Mateo

There's no place like home for Mills, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top against the San Mateo Bearcats by a score of 6-2 on Tuesday. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 20-6 win the Bearcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Nate Lafon tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Givanni Angelini, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Brown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mills' record now sits at 6-10. As for San Mateo, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-11.

Mills will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
