Softball Recap: Corcoran Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Corcoran, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Orange Cove Titans a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 10-0 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Aliyah Andrade, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Orange Cove off the board. What's more, Andrade gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2024.

At the plate, Kaelynn Castillo was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Coronado, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Corcoran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.

The victory got Corcoran back to even at 4-4. As for Orange Cove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.

Corcoran has already played their next game, a 16-3 win against Orosi on the 27th. As for Orange Cove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-3 victory against Granite Hills on the 27th.
