Softball Game Preview: Lake Forest Scouts vs. Warren Township Blue Devils

Lake Forest hasn't had much luck against Warren Township recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Scouts will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Blue Devils at 4:45 p.m.

Lake Forest is leaving town to face Warren Township after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Scouts came up short against Grayslake Central back in March, falling 22-5. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 11 in a row.

LaMartin Natalie made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Houghtaling Abbie, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Warren Township). They were the clear victors by a 19-13 margin over Antioch on Thursday.

Lake Forest might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Warren Township in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Scouts avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
