Softball Recap: River Valley Panthers vs. Northern Cambria Colts
River Valley can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Thursday. They never let the Northern Cambria Colts onto the board and left with a 15-0 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as River Valley also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.
Sara Bollinger made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over four innings pitched. Bollinger was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Ashley Pynos and Emerson Skirboll did most of the damage at the plate: Pynos scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Skirboll went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Lilly Buckles was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
River Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Northern Cambria, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
