Volleyball Recap: Nine Straight Home Victories for Shorecrest Prep

There's no place like home for Shorecrest Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Countryside Cougars on Friday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 two weeks ago.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Shorecrest Prep was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-10.

Morgan Harrington paced Shorecrest Prep's offense, picking up six kills. Harrington got some help from Hayden Zielinski and her 11 assists. Zielinski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Shorecrest Prep pushed their record up to 11-6 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Countryside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Coincidentally, Shorecrest Prep and Countryside will both be playing Tampa Bay HEAT the next time they take the court. The Cougars will head out to face Tampa Bay HEAT at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Chargers will host them at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
