Softball Game Preview: Frankenmuth Eagles vs. Williamston Hornets

The Frankenmuth Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Williamston Hornets on Tuesday. Frankenmuth will be strutting in after a win while Williamston will be coming in after a loss.

Frankenmuth is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Kearsley 17-0 on Saturday. The Eagles have beaten the Hornets the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Hornets has come to flipping the script.

Bri Barker was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Comstock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Frankenmuth hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Williamston's offense. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Western on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Hornets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Frankenmuth's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Williamston, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
