Softball Recap: Grayslake Central Comes Up Short

Grayslake Central had lost six straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 11-13 to make it seven. They fell 18-15 to the Buffalo Grove Bison. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bison apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Kate Davies was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emma Andrews, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

As for Buffalo Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On Buffalo Grove's side, the team relied heavily on Erin Ryan, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Those four runs gave Ryan a new career-high. Leah Hampton also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Coming up, Grayslake Central will host Wauconda at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Buffalo Grove, they will challenge Elk Grove at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
