Recap: Peddie Falcons vs. Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm
The Peddie Falcons are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Mercersburg Academy Blue Storm. Peddie took a serious blow against Mercersburg Academy, falling 67-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Peddie has suffered since December 12, 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mercersburg Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison Goodhart, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Goodhart has scored all season. Allister Caretti was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Peddie and nudges their season record down to 2-10. As for Mercersburg Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Peddie will take on Pennington at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Pennington is ranked 22nd, while Peddie is ranked 24th). As for Mercersburg Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Hill School at 4:00 p.m. Hill School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
