Football Recap: Eastern Wayne Piles Up the Points Against North Lenoir + How To Watch

Eastern Wayne got themselves on the board against North Lenoir on Friday, but North Lenoir never followed suit. They blew past the Hawks 35-0. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 21-20 victory the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2019.

Izeiah Oates produced another solid effort throwing for 178 yards and three TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 41 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (163.2).

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Eastern Wayne, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jeremiah Faison, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Eastern Wayne's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 40.6 points over those games. As for North Lenoir, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
