Softball Recap: Christoval Has No Trouble Against Eldorado

Christoval won the last time they faced Eldorado and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Cougars blew past the Eagles 17-7. Considering the Cougars have won five matches by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Danielle Braswell made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Christoval got a massive performance out of Aubrey Young, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs Young has posted since back in February of 2024. Lizzie Nikalauk also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.

Christoval always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .703. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Christoval's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Eldorado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.

Coming up, Christoval will challenge Colorado at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Eldorado, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Miles at 5:30 p.m. on the 11th.
