Baseball Game Preview: Deering Rams vs. Portland Bulldogs

The Deering Rams will venture away from home to take on the Portland Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Deering came up short against Thornton Academy on Tuesday, falling 21-1. The Rams have struggled against the Trojans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Portland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 4-0 to Noble. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Portland's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Deering, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Deering came out on top in a nail-biter against Portland in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
