Baseball Game Preview: Presque Isle Wildcats vs. John Bapst Memorial Crusaders

The Presque Isle Wildcats will take on the John Bapst Memorial Crusaders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Presque Isle has three straight victories, John Bapst Memorial has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Presque Isle's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Fort Kent 13-0.

Brandon Porter was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Carmichael, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Presque Isle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Fort Kent only posted an OBP of .273.

Meanwhile, John Bapst Memorial suffered their closest defeat since May 10, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Mount Desert Island by a score of 6-4.

Presque Isle's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for John Bapst Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Presque Isle beat John Bapst Memorial 7-4 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
