Basketball Recap: Valor Christian Picks Up 14th Straight Win at Home

Valor Christian had won 13 straight home games dating back to last season and Peyton Jones did her part to make it 14 on Thursday. The Valor Christian Eagles blew past the Lakewood Tigers 91-36 thanks in part to Jones, who went 13-for-21 en route to 30 points. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Kate Fuessel was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in rebounds.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaliyah Perea, who posted seven points. Another player making a difference was Iben Last, who put up ten points and five boards.

Valor Christian's victory bumped their record up to 19-2. As for Lakewood, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Valor Christian will host Arapahoe at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakewood, they will welcome Columbine at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
