Basketball Recap: Maryland School for the Deaf Takes a Loss

If Maryland School for the Deaf was riding high fresh off their 64-41 takedown of Chapelgate Christian Academy last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Maryland School for the Deaf Orioles lost 67-41 to Mount Airy Christian Academy on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Orioles have suffered against Mount Airy Christian Academy since January 15, 2022.

Avery Witter continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mount Airy Christian Academy, dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten boards. Witter has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Ava McGlaughlin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Maryland School for the Deaf now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Maryland School for the Deaf will challenge Model Secondary School for the Deaf at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Mount Airy Christian Academy, they will take on Greater Grace Christian Academy at 5:15 p.m. on February 6th.
