Football Recap: Lakewood Ranch Takes a Loss

Lakewood Ranch extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 2-3. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Lennard Longhorns. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

As for Lennard, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.2 points on average this season.

Ronnie Wilson produced another solid effort rushing for 130 yards and three scores while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Coming up, Lakewood Ranch will head out on the road to challenge Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Sailors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 27 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lennard, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Plant City at 7:30 p.m.
