It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Yuba City had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Vista del Lago Eagles. Four seems to be a good number for the Honkers as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
The team relied heavily on Ashton Decker, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Zeke Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.
Yuba City has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.
