Baseball Recap: Purcell Comes Up Short

After flying high against Riverside Indian on Monday, Purcell came back down to earth. The Dragons came up short against the Plainview Indians on Thursday, falling 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Dragons have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Purcell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Boston Knowles, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. Knowles is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Purcell's defeat dropped their record down to 22-14. As for Plainview, they pushed their record up to 12-14 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Coming up, Purcell will square off against Blanchard at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Plainview does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
