Jordan is 2-7 against American Fork since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Beetdiggers will venture away from home to face off against the Cavemen at 3:30 p.m. The last four games Jordan has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Jordan will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Salem Hills, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Beetdiggers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Skyhawks on Thursday.
DANIEL STROPE tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ayden Thurgood, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. JOSEPH PEAK was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, American Fork faced Snow Canyon in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Cavemen fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6.
Brecken Jensen was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits.
On the hitting side, Gavin Robinson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. Hanks Jacobsen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Jordan's record is now 6-4. As for American Fork, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Jordan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.5 hits per game. However, it's not like American Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Jordan came up short against American Fork in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, falling 9-4. Can the Beetdiggers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
