Basketball Recap: Carver Takes a Loss

Carver was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Faith Christian Academy Titans . While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 487th, while the Titans are ranked 211th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Faith Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ashtain Preston, who went 6 of 13 en route to 23 points. That's the most points Preston has posted since back in November of 2024. Harry Egbayelo was another key player, putting up two points in addition to 21 rebounds, six steals, and five assists.

Carver's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for New Faith Christian Academy, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 16-10.

Carver wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 72-36 defeat against KIPP Atlanta Collegiate on the 16th. New Faith Christian Academy has also already played their next contest, a 79-60 victory against The Grace Christian Academy on the 17th.
