Basketball Game Preview: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Doral Academy Firebirds + How To Watch

Having just played yesterday, the Braddock Bulldogs will get right back to it and host the Doral Academy Firebirds at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Braddock has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with six straight losses, while Doral Academy will come in with five straight victories.

On Thursday, Braddock might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Coral Reef an easy 70-46 win. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Barracudas are ranked 226th).

Meanwhile, Doral Academy didn't have too much trouble with Ferguson on Tuesday as they won 67-50.

Braddock better focus on containing Michael - Sebastian Moreno and Derek Rocha as the pair were huge in Doral Academy's win. Moreno shot 60% from the field on his way to 22 points along with eight boards and three steals, while Rocha went 9-for-14 to rack up 22 points. Moreno's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Bruno Rodriguez, who posted eight points.

Doral Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Doral Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Braddock, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Braddock was able to grind out a solid win over Doral Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 53-43. Do the Bulldogs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Firebirds turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
