Volleyball Recap: Beaver Island Comes Up Short at Home Against Maplewood Baptist Academy + How To Watch

Beaver Island unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Maplewood Baptist Academy Black Bears by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Islanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Black Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Maplewood Baptist Academy now has a winning record of 1-0-1.

Beaver Island will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Burt Township at 1:00 p.m. on October 1. As for Maplewood Baptist Academy, they will face off against Mackinac Island at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
