Volleyball Recap: Edon's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

Edon dropped to 16-7 on Monday, ending the team's 11-match streak of wins at home. They fell just short of the Edgerton Bulldogs by a score of 3-2. The Bombers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Edon lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Genna Ripke, who had 15 digs and one block. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last 19 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Avery Aldrich, who had 35 digs and one assist.

As for Edgerton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Edon since August 30, 2021.

Leading Edgerton to victory were Aubrey Patrick and Cara Schroeder. Patrick had 21 digs and four aces, while Schroeder had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Schroeder has posted since back in September.

Edon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edgerton, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against St. Paul on the 22nd.
