For the first time this season, St. Martin will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the West Harrison Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated (St. Martin has four wins , while West Harrison has five dating back to last season).
St. Martin barely beat Hancock the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellow Jackets blew past the Hawks 35-0 on Friday. The Yellow Jackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 20 points or more this season.
St. Martin found their leader in sophomore Seth Crockett, who rushed for 81 yards and one TD, and also threw for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 88% of his passes. Kevin Marshall was Crockett's top target, picking up 45 receiving yards and two scores.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Harrison). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Laurel 53-20. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Hurricanes with their most commanding win of the season.
St. Martin better keep an eye on Jordan Stapleton. He was instrumental in West Harrison's win, rushing for 196 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 60 receiving yards and one TD. Stapleton's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 13th straight game with at least 129 rushing yards dating back to last season. Sean Fairley was another key player, rushing for 44 yards and a pair of scores.
West Harrison was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 382 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 296 rushing yards in 13 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

West Harrison's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for St. Martin, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-0.
Everything came up roses for St. Martin against West Harrison in their previous meeting back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 63-14 win. In that game, the Yellow Jackets amassed a halftime lead of 35-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
