Recap: Islip Buccaneers vs. Mount Sinai Mustangs
The Islip Buccaneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-42 to Mount Sinai. Islip has not had much luck with Mount Sinai recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Mount Sinai's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Pennzello led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Pennzello is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Blake Kolsch was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Islip bumped their record down to 0-1 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Mount Sinai, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Islip will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mount Sinai at 5:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Mount Sinai, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kings Park at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
