Baseball Recap: West Mecklenburg Has No Trouble Against Olympic

West Mecklenburg hadn't done well against Olympic recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won nine games by 11 runs or more so far this season.

West Mecklenburg got a big performance out of Allen German, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI German has posted since April 1st. Anthony Echevarria was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

West Mecklenburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .536. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for West Mecklenburg and bumps their season record up to 15-8. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-16 Olympic and 0-13 Harding University. As for Olympic, they dropped their record down to 0-16 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.

Coming up, West Mecklenburg will challenge Harding University at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Olympic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
