Volleyball Recap: Rock Hill Takes a Loss

Rock Hill lost against Catawba Ridge back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bearcats lost 3-0 to the Copperheads. The Bearcats' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Rock Hill was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Catawba Ridge's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-18.

Cale Mitrovich paced Rock Hill's offense, picking up seven kills. Mitrovich got some help from Ethan Missaggia and his 19 assists. Finally, Josh Helms kept Rock Hill's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Rock Hill now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Catawba Ridge, they pushed their record up to 22-4-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Rock Hill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Blythewood on the 15th. As for Catawba Ridge, they will challenge Clover at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
