Baseball Recap: Richton Has No Trouble Against Collins

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mize, Richton was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Collins Tigers 14-4. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Brooks Hall made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only two hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Ethan Byrd and Wyatt Cochran did most of the damage at the plate: Byrd went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two runs, and one stolen base, while Cochran scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most hits Byrd has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Noah Earwood, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Richton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Richton's victory bumped their record up to 4-18. As for Collins, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Richton beat the Tigers by a score of 13-6 later that day.
