Basketball Game Preview: Marquez Gladiators vs. Torres Toros

Marquez has won three straight games at home, while Torres has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Gladiators will face off against the Toros at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marquez is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Elizabeth: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Gladiators blew the Bulldogs out of the water with an 87-28 final score. The Gladiators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 29 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Torres beat Maywood Academy 49-42 on Monday.

Marquez's victory bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Torres, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.

Everything came up roses for Marquez against Torres in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as the team secured a 76-44 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Toros' Jeremy Escobar, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 28 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.
