Baseball Recap: Bethel Jaguars vs. Rio Vista Rams

Bethel extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping their season record down to 5-15 in the process. They lost 13-3 to the Rio Vista Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in March.

As for Rio Vista, the victory got them back to even at 10-10. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.

For Rio Vista's part, John Brimmer made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Rio Vista is 2-1 when Brimmer allows one or fewer earned runs, but 8-9 otherwise. Brimmer was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Emmett Medders was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Leland Jennings was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run.
