Basketball Recap: Ethan Zahn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Huntington North over East Noble

Huntington North suffered their closest defeat since February 9, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the East Noble Knights by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (59), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Huntington North's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Zahn, who went 6 of 14 en route to 16 points and six assists. The matchup was Zahn's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Titus Schultz was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Huntington North's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-7. As for East Noble, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-7 record this season.

Huntington North will be playing in front of their home fans against DeKalb at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Huntington North knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully DeKalb likes a good challenge. As for East Noble, they will venture away from home to face off against Norwell at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. East Noble is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
