Basketball Game Preview: Harvest Prep Warriors vs. Tri-Valley Scotties

The Harvest Prep Warriors will head out to square off against the Tri-Valley Scotties at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

Last Tuesday, Harvest Prep came up short against Olentangy and fell 66-59. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Braves are ranked 33rd).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Janay Carter, who went 6 of 10 en route to 15 points and three steals. Carter is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Maliyah Lofton, who posted 13 points.

Meanwhile, Tri-Valley came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Electrics to the tune of 49-20. The game marked the Scotties' most dominant victory of the season so far.

This is the second loss in a row for Harvest Prep and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Tri-Valley, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Harvest Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Tri-Valley in their previous matchup back in January, winning 56-43. Will Harvest Prep repeat their success, or does Tri-Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
