Volleyball Game Preview: Southwestern Rebels vs. Jeffersonville Red Devils

The Southwestern Rebels will take on the Jeffersonville Red Devils at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Southwestern has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Jeffersonville will arrive with 12 straight victories.

Southwestern lost 3-0 to New Albany on Monday.

Southwestern took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-9, 25-12.

Meanwhile, Jeffersonville made easy work of Whiteland on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Jeffersonville's got stronger as the match went on, holding Whiteland to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-14.

Jeffersonville pushed their record up to 26-5 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for Southwestern, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Southwestern suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Jeffersonville when the teams last played back in April. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
