Basketball Recap: Carroll Beats Western for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Carroll extended their winning streak to six on Thursday, bumping them up to 6-0. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-44 W against the Western Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Carroll to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mady Isley, who shot 50% from the field on her way to 16 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Isley has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kinleigh Randle, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 14 points.

As for Western, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ellyse Walden, who earned seven points and eight boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Allora Bevington, who put up ten points.

Looking ahead, Carroll will face off against Tri-County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cavaliers have been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Western, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 56-36 defeat against Oak Hill on the 6th.
