Recap: Youngker Roughriders vs. Washington Rams
The Youngker Roughriders were the 57-48 winner over the Washington Rams when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. Youngker fell to Washington 50-46.
Despite the loss, Youngker still got an impressive performance from Ashlee Gonzalez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds. Gonzalez has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Ytzel McClendon was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Washington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Channel Ochoa led the charge by scoring 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaya Yazzie, who scored 12 points.
Youngker now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Washington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.
Youngker will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cactus Shadows at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Cactus Shadows focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday. Washington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
