Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Watsonville walked away with it. They blew past the Cupertino Pioneers 11-1 on Saturday. The Wildcatz haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Amelia Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Mia Espinoza was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ruiz Bella, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Watsonville now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Cupertino, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 15-9 record.
