Kennett (Conway, N.H.) stunned
Plymouth (N.H.), 20-9. The Bobcats had won their last 57 games.
First-year Kennett head coach Mike Holderman told the Manchester Union Leader, “It was so loud toward the end, it was tough to hear things, communicate with our players on the field.
“It feels pretty good. It’s a little surreal. The kids did an awesome job.”
Kennett has quite a history with Plymouth, which has won 18 state titles. Kennett ended Plymouth’s 46-game winning streak, 6-0, early in the 2004 campaign. Then Kennett was the victim last year when Plymouth won its state-record 47th consecutive game.
According to the calpreps.com, the longest current win streak now belongs to
Reidsville (N.C.) at 53 games.
