Basketball Recap: Ridgemont Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lauren Wingfield and Ruth Eckstein

Ridgemont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The match between them and the Upper Scioto Valley Rams didn't end well, with the Ridgemont Golden Gophers falling 41-27. The contest marked the Golden Gophers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ridgemont's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Ruth Eckstein, who posted five points and ten rebounds, and Lauren Wingfield, who put up five points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Eckstein a new career-high in blocks (two).

Ridgemont's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Upper Scioto Valley, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgemont will venture away from home to challenge Ridgedale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they are taking a road trip to square off against Waynesfield-Goshen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
