Baseball Recap: Conneaut Area Drops Season-High Score on Northwestern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Conneaut Area). They walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Northwestern Wildcats on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Ashton Headley was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Logan Nottingham was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Conneaut Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Conneaut Area's record is now 5-9. As for Northwestern, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-12.

Coming up, Conneaut Area will take on Fairview at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Youngsville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
