Basketball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Christian Academy's Winning Streak

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Christian Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell 56-47 to the Orleans Bulldogs on Saturday. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Renfro, who posted 15 points. The match was Renfro's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was David Cook, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 15 points.

It was another big night for Alex DeWitt, who dropped a double-double with 28 points and ten rebounds for Orleans. DeWitt is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last 13 games he's played. Rylan Crocker was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Orleans, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season.

Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Orleans, they will square off against Hauser at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hauser knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 17 contests -- so hopefully Orleans likes a good challenge.
